What a different affair this week turned out to be
The pub was overrun by the footballing many - who had no intentions of turning over their warm seats and good views for the Chorlton Fiddlers as the pub has dubbed us.
So Roger and the crew all decamped round the back of the pub by the bowling green . . . the few faithful stayed and played but many upped and left before it ever really got cracking.
Only time will tell if they manage to get back to their old place . . . . or is it simply time to find something new?

Irish Professional Network
Congrats to all at the IPN who've been putting together the social empire that is destined to see the irish taking over the world (or the UK anyway)!
All joking aside, it's a great site and once everyone gets aboard the internet train should prove a most useful tool.
Membership to the 'inner circle' is by administrator permission only - so you'll need to start buying the organisors a drink for that, but if you want to see when the next event is etc they check out http://www.irishprofessionalnetwork.org/
Next event is the Christmas bash at O'Sheas - I'll be the drunk one under the table!

Monday at the Lloyds
Monday night is not exactly big on fun things to do - especially after the weekend before. But for the Irish in Manchester they can always head to Chorlton for the Monday night session, where a merry band of musicians play along to some traditional and not so traditional tunes.
This week, the 'old' crowd were joined by a few of the more English country dance style players content with showing us jigs and reels lovers there was another way. The valiant attempt lasted till about 10.30pm - and then we picked the pace up.
